Our name – REMINISCE- Retirement In Action……., has a deep root meaning of indulging in enjoyable recollection of past events which means “the difference.” It became a source of inspiration for us.

Our logo with “three mandalas” represents the mind, body and soul. It symbolises the cosmos in a perfectly harmonious state.

Our vision is to be the most loved and trusted brand for seniors and their families, by helping these seniors improve and enrich their quality of life. With this vision, we set ourselves the mission to understand and respond to their evolving needs and desires through a perfect blend of lifecare and lifestyle offerings that delivers a comprehensive and seamless experience.

Introduction Navratri is a time of devotion, celebration, and reflection on Dharma. During this sacred period, let’s address and put an end to the long-standing controversy surrounding Shambhuk Vadh by Bhagwan Shri Ram. Many misinterpretations and distortions have been spread about this incident from the Valmiki Ramayana, leading to unfounded accusations against Bhagwan Ram. But what is the real truth? Was it a caste-based injustice, or was there a deeper spiritual and dharmic reason behind Shambhuk’s death? Let’s uncover the true significance of this event and dispel the myths with an in-depth analysis based on authentic scriptures and logical reasoning. Who Was Shambhuk? Shambhuk was an ascetic (tapasvi) performing intense penance (tapasya) during Bhagwan Ram’s rule (Ram Rajya). The key point of contention is: Why was he punished? Some modern narratives portray this as a caste-based act, but Valmiki Ramayana tells a different story. To understand the truth, we must explore the context and consequences of Shambhuk’s penance. The Background: A Child’s Death and the Penance of Shambhuk During Ram Rajya, justice and Dharma prevailed, and no injustice was ever tolerated. However, one day, an innocent Brahmin child suddenly died—something unheard of in Ram Rajya. According to the Vedic principles of karma and cosmic order, untimely deaths of young, innocent beings were not supposed to happen during the rule of a righteous king like Ram. The grieving father of the child approached Bhagwan Ram for justice, urging him to find out the cause behind this unusual event. Bhagwan Ram, guided by his unwavering commitment to Dharma, consulted learned sages and was informed that such an untimely death was the result of Adharma (a violation of divine laws). Further investigation led him to Shambhuk, who was performing extreme penance in a manner that disrupted cosmic balance. Shambhuk’s Penance: Was It a Violation of Dharma? It is important to understand that penance (tapasya) and spiritual practices were never forbidden for anyone in the Vedic system. Sanatan Dharma does not discriminate on caste but on karma and dharmic responsibilities. However, there were certain guidelines regarding the practice of penance—rules meant to maintain universal harmony. 🔹 According to Valmiki Ramayana, Shambhuk’s penance was not just an ordinary meditation. It was an act performed with the intention of attaining celestial powers (siddhis) through improper means. His tapasya was leading to a cosmic imbalance, and as a result, it caused unnatural disruptions in the natural order, including the untimely death of a child. 🔹 The Vedic scriptures explain that when penance is performed with egoistic intent, fueled by selfish desires rather than genuine spiritual growth, it becomes a source of Adharma. 🔹 Many demons (Asuras) in ancient texts performed such penances to gain power and challenge the divine order. Unlike great rishis and sages who sought enlightenment, some individuals engaged in self-centered tapasya for the sole purpose of acquiring destructive powers. Bhagwan Ram’s Role as the Upholder of Dharma As Maryada Purushottam, Bhagwan Shri Ram’s duty was to ensure that Dharma was upheld in every situation. His actions were never based on personal bias but on the eternal principles of righteousness. 🔹 He did not act out of prejudice, nor was this an issue of caste discrimination. Instead, it was about maintaining cosmic balance and upholding divine justice. 🔹 The killing of Shambhuk was not about social hierarchy but about preventing misuse of spiritual practices for selfish or harmful purposes. 🔹 Had Bhagwan Ram not acted, greater suffering would have ensued. His decision restored harmony, and as a result, the innocent child was revived immediately after Shambhuk’s death. Dispelling the Myths: Caste-Based Misinterpretations In recent times, certain groups have attempted to misrepresent Shambhuk’s story as a caste-based injustice, portraying Bhagwan Ram in a negative light. However, these claims ignore the actual scriptural evidence. 🔹 Sanatan Dharma has always emphasized karma over birth.
